Oly: Anti terrorist police continue sweep of Games venues.

Anti-terrorist police, soldiers, bomb disposal experts, divers and sniffer dogs will
today continue their sweep of major venues in a final security shakedown before the Sydney
Olympics.

More than 600 personnel yesterday began combing every inch of the venues in an exercise
which is expected to last three weeks and culminate in all three Olympic precincts being
officially locked down.

Public access to Olympic Park, Darling Harbour, the athletes village and all other
Games locations will involve stringent accreditation from September 1.

Olympic Security Commander PAUL MCKINNON says the search will help police familiarise
themselves with the fitout so they'll be able to recognise foreign objects.

He says they'll need to look for parcels, packages and boxes that shouldn't be where they are.

The Games security chief says venue managers will also be asked to undertake searches
to familiarise themselves with areas under their own control.
