NSW:More flash flooding in northern NSW

Overnight downpours have led to more flooding in NSW's rain ravaged north, with a severe
weather warning in place for much of the region.

Deluges began lashing the region last night and authorities are preparing for spot flooding.

Coffs Harbour copped 100 millimetres of rain in a six hour period and another 100mm
of rain is forecast around Bellingen, Taree and as far south as the Hunter.

Two people were rescued from a car on the Pacific Highway in Grafton overnight, with
the highway closed to all traffic today in both directions one kilometre south of the
Gwydir Highway.

In the mid-north coast and the north coast, 300 properties have been isolated by flood
waters while another 250 properties remain isolated in Goodooga in the far northwest.

Residents around Port Macquarie, Tamworth and Coffs Harbour have been warned to expect
rain and thunderstorms today, which could lead to localised flash flooding.
