Snap! Is Internet's Fastest-Growing Search Engine

    July Web Ratings Show Snap!'s Audience Expanding 47% in One Month's Time    

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Snap!, the directory, search and navigation service jointly owned and operated by CNET (Nasdaq: CNWK) and NBC, was the fastest-growing search engine* for at-home usage, according to the July monthly ratings reported by Media Metrix, the PC Meter Company, the recognized leader in the field of Internet usage measurement services. Snap!'s July audience expanded 47% among unique users from the June ratings period. The announcement was made today by Edmond Sanctis, Snap!'s chief operating officer.

During the month of July, Snap! introduced its first marketing program, with on-air promotional spots on the NBC television network. Additionally, the search engine continued to unveil a combination of improvements to its speed, organization and content. Snap!'s new front door, content harvesting tool set and relevancy enhancements proved to be a successful traffic builder.
