May 02, 2006 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Austar United Communications has been hampered by slow developments and lack of vision in its industries. The Australian regional pay TV and internet provider delivered disappointing news on 2 May 2006. CEO John Porter said the equipment needed for its high-speed broadband network would not be available until early 2007, leading to delays in expenditure. As for Austar's proposed $A30-per-month pay TV offer, Porter said sadly program suppliers were reluctant to accept lower margins for the sake of developing the sector, and thus the offer was taking longer to bring to market.
