NSW: Sadness and joy as Kanimbla arrives home = 2 Sydney
Prime Minister John Howard said he was feeling very emotional as he stood dockside
awaiting those on board to disembark.
As he waved to the crew Mr Howard said his feelings were mixed.
"It is a great delight at having them back, it is also very emotional because of the
particularly tragic time they went through losing some of their fellow crewmen and women.
"I am so happy that it is a beautiful Sydney day and I am sure they will feel tremendous
about being home."
Commander McGuire was greeted by his wife waiting at the foot of the gangway as he disembarked.
